Privacy Policy

This privacy policy applies to the CashSnap app (hereby referred to as "Application") for mobile devices that was created by Khalid Warsame (hereby referred to as "Service Provider") as a Freemium service. This service is intended for use "AS IS".

Information Collection and Use

Your banknote collection, note details, and saved photos are stored locally on your device. CashSnap does not require an account. To operate and improve the service, the Application and its providers process limited technical information such as:

The Application does not gather precise location, use Session Replay, or record screen and touch activity.

The Application does not require your name or email address. If you contact support, the Service Provider receives the contact information and message content you voluntarily provide and uses it to respond to your request.

Third Party Access

The Application transmits limited data to external services to provide banknote identification, subscriptions, diagnostics, and error tracking. Diagnostic data uses an anonymous installation identifier and can include app/build and device metadata, currency and chart status, operation outcomes, durations, aggregate collection counts, and error stack traces. It does not include banknote photos, local photo paths, serial numbers, note text, or database rows.

Please note that the Application utilizes third-party services that have their own Privacy Policy about handling data. Below are the links to the Privacy Policy of the third-party service providers used by the Application:

AI-Powered Banknote Identification

The Application uses AI vision models (accessed via OpenRouter) to identify banknotes from photos you scan. When you scan a banknote, the image is sent to a third-party AI model provider for analysis. Only the banknote image is transmitted — no personal information, location data, or device identifiers are included with the request. The image is used for identifying the currency, denomination, year, and condition of the banknote. OpenRouter also sends the text prompt, the four-field structured result, model/provider, token usage, cost, and latency to PostHog for AI quality monitoring; banknote images are excluded from that PostHog trace. Processing and retention by the AI providers are governed by their respective privacy and data policies.

Subscription Analytics

RevenueCat sends subscription lifecycle and revenue events to PostHog. These events can include product, revenue, currency, transaction timestamps, entitlement and subscription status, and RevenueCat app-user and transaction identifiers. The Application links those events to the same anonymous PostHog installation by sharing PostHog's opaque installation identifier with RevenueCat; it does not add an email, name, or CashSnap account identifier.

The Service Provider may disclose User Provided and Automatically Collected Information:

Opt-Out Rights

You can stop all collection of information by the Application easily by uninstalling it. You may use the standard uninstall processes as may be available as part of your mobile device or via the mobile application marketplace or network.

Data Retention Policy

Your local collection remains on your device until you delete it or uninstall the Application. Third-party providers retain data according to their own privacy and data-retention policies. Support messages are retained as reasonably needed to respond and maintain support records. To request deletion of information you provided directly to the Service Provider, contact cashsnap@khalidwar.com.

Children

The Service Provider does not use the Application to knowingly solicit data from or market to children under the age of 13.

The Application does not address anyone under the age of 13. The Service Provider does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13 years of age. In the case the Service Provider discover that a child under 13 has provided personal information, the Service Provider will immediately delete this from their servers. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact the Service Provider (cashsnap@khalidwar.com) so that they will be able to take the necessary actions.

Security

The Service Provider is concerned about safeguarding the confidentiality of your information. The Service Provider provides physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect information the Service Provider processes and maintains.

Changes

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time for any reason. The Service Provider will notify you of any changes to the Privacy Policy by updating this page with the new Privacy Policy. You are advised to consult this Privacy Policy regularly for any changes, as continued use is deemed approval of all changes.

This privacy policy is effective as of 2026-07-26

By using the Application, you are consenting to the processing of your information as set forth in this Privacy Policy now and as amended by us.
